Maya Project 1 Evidence of production:

Task 1: Creation of terrain and water:

Here I created the Base plane which would serve as the base for my scene.

Using the paint terrain tool I managed to manipulate the outer edges of the plane to make it seem a sort of rocky mountain type terrain around the edge of the scene. the included having sections come upwards to create hills/mountains and having a recess in one corner for me to add a pool of water.

Using a cube and the Blinn option for the faces I managed to create the moving water texture, I had also added two lily pads to the pool for a bit of extra added detail.

Task 2 Model and animate at least 2 features:

Using a series of different shape tools I had managed to create a windmill, this was primarily created using cubes, cylinders, cones and the edge tool to manipulate the faces into different shapes to make edges on the rotors.

this shows some of the usage of the edge tool I had used to create edges on a cube shape to mould the windmill blades to a preferred shape.

This is an exploded view of the cart and tracks which I had created using a variety of different shapes and tools and then grouped together to make a singular object some sections have been pre coloured using a lambert this is because I felt that there was no need to UV wrap these particular items as I felt a singular colour on them would suffice.

This is an exploded view of the rocket, whilst rather basic in design shows the core rocket shape with additional thrusters on either side and a launch pad base.

This is the UV wrapping behind the windmills core structure, it is a metallic sheet style image.

This is the UV wrapping behind the wooden slats for the rails which I then duplicated across rather than making a bunch of different slats and UV wrapping them all.
This is the UV wrapping behind the launch pad which shows a sheet metal base for the rocket to launch itself from.

This is the UV wrapping behind the rocket, is is a brushed aluminium style wrap to show the cleaner style of metal used on a rocket.

This shows the finished product with UV wrapping and a space scene added for the background with an image plane.

This shows the finished product with the rocket beginning to take off and the particle effects attached. these effects include smoke from the base and a firey effect coming from the thrusters.
